One title in particular, "Enjoy Life and Be Happy in 30 Seconds" really made us giggle like little girls, so much so that Irene bought it for me and practically demanded I write about it.
So I was flipping through the book to see if I would get inspired to write about it and a funny thing happened... I decided to REALLY read it and participate in the daily activities instead, even if it is in my own Jaded way. Like so...
Activity #1: Today I will focus on 5 things that are great in my life.
- I have great hair. It doesn't always obey my commands but all in all, my hair is awesome.
- I know at least 5 people who, with just one phone call, will drop everything to cut someone to bloody bits of ass on my behalf.
- My kids are growing into amazing young ladies, all because I am a consecutive Mother of the Year award winner.
- I know what I want to be when I grow up, and that's more than a lot of people can say for themselves.
- I have a pretty good feeling that when my landlord and his family blow up NYC my little family of three will be spared.
*smooches...only taking the activities KINDA serious*

listen, one book and one church visit do not an UN-Jaded NYer make... so what are the 5 great things in YOUR life?
5 comments:
1. I am a great teacher and make my kids laugh a lot in class but also am well respected despite age
2. I am overcommitted but will always give every endeavor 100% commitment
3. Due to my itty bitties I can sometimes fit into Youth sized shirts or go braless and that is just plain divine
4. I have proven that I can look good w/o black eyeliner, but look great with it too
5. I've been able to build great networks and have a lot more true friends than I would have imagined having 10 years ago
1. I have a beautiful, bright, no-nonsense daughter who makes my life so damned interesting.
2. I have a strong belief in my abilities to overcome adversity and achieve everything I want in life.
3. I am healthy.
4. I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, and love in my heart. (don't laugh Raquel)
5. If I were to die right this instant I would have not a single regret.
1. I'm not religious but I do believe we should do unto others and always try to follow that. I want respect so I always respect. If you don't respect me, the hell with you.
2. I have the best and greatest and hugest group of friends and family I could ever ask for. We can be overwhelming in large groups (and we usually travel in packs) and none of us are normal, but we're always interesting.
3. Taking a page from you, Jaded, I know at least 5 people who, at the drop of a hat, have offered to bust out cans of whoop ass on someone who has caused my heart to hurt.
4. I trust like a two-year old. It's caused pain, yes, I've been accused of being gullible, yes, but I believe it has allowed me to be more open to people than most adults would be. I think it's the Midwesterner in me.
5. I am lucky enough to work in an industry that feeds my addiction (books) and that makes the daily grind worthwhile. There is nothing like walking up to a take shelf, judging ten books by their covers, and bringing them home. And there is nothing like being able to share the wealth.
1. I have faith that can move mountains.
2. I have an amazing son who even in his three short years on this earth has changed me in so many ways. And I love him for it.
3. Friends that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. Even when they are acting like Bitches, we all have our days.
4. A family that will put the Cosby's to shame. They love me more and my flaws and will defend me to the end.
5. The love of my life....he's one of the reasons I am who I am. From skinny nerdy girl to Fab woman, wife and mother he's been there.
Lastly My career. In this day and age any of us in the Finance world need to be thankful.
