Thanks for the list! I meandered here thinking "rumor has it winter is coming" was a reference to the Game of Thrones series. ;-)
On my nightstand:
What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami
A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway
I love it when authors write books about themselves writing books. Both of these fall into that category - not exactly autobiographical, but more "meta" than their usual novels.
I like feeling as though I'm in on a secret with an author, and pondering events and thoughts that might have inspired other works they have written.
Both are good contemplative "winter" reads.
condoms lol you asked
I read The Gum Thief a couple of years ago. Not one of my favourites by Coupland but still a good read.
I've just started reading Unfamiliar Fishes by Sarah Vowell. She has such amazingly dry wit (I read all her books in her voice)and she can make even the most banal historical facts seem interesting.
The Murakami book that Kristin mentioned is also in my lineup. I may have to move it up in the order.
In the middle of the Sandman series and crossing my fingers that I get some kind of Amazon gift card so I can buy the rest ... or that someone in my family gets the major hint about my wish list on Amazon and buys them for me.
Just finished Drood, by Dan Simmons. Never been a fan of Charles Dickens, and really didn't think I'd stick it out for the 950 pages, but I got hooked.
Damned Busters, Matthew Hughes ... something I picked up off a take shelf and am hoping is good.
NY Magazine ... always in rotation with whatever I'm reading because, as soon as it comes, I have to drop what I'm doing and read it cover to cover.
